Need a healthy snack to get you through the day and have to have a chocolate fix then try these yummy cranberry and chocolate granola bars on the go!
Ingredients
1/2 cup rolled oat (quick or old fashioned)
1/2 cup whole wheat flour
1/2 cup wheat germ (toasted)
1/2 tsp cinnamon
1/2 cup honey
2/3 cup cranberries (dried sweetened)
2/3 cup chocolate chips (dark chocolate chips divided)
Preparation
1) | Preheat oven to 300 degrees farenheit. |
2) | Spray an 8" square pan with cooking oil spray or coat sides and bottom of pan with canola oil. |
3) | In a large bowl, combine oats, flour, wheat germ, and cinnamon. |
4) | Stir in honey until dry ingredients are well coated. |
5) | Stir in dried cranberries and 1/3 cup of the chocolate chips. |
6) | Pat mixture into oiled pan. |
7) | Top mixture with remaining 1/3 cup of chocolate chips. |
8) | Bake for 18 - 20 minutes or until top is golden. |
9) | Cool in pan, then cut into squares. |
